Hello, I was finally able to track down the problem this morning which breaks debian-installer console output on powerpc and ppc64 since kernel v6.8.
There is a patch [1] in the current Debian kernel package which was supposed to fix the exact same problem [2] on ppc64el and it was introduced with Debian's kernel package version 6.1.25-1. Since the regression is only present since v6.7 kernels, I assume that the offb code has changed in the meantime upstream so that this patch is no longer necessary and now has the opposite effect, i.e. it reintroduces the bug. Frédéric, could you verify that theory on ppc64el, i.e. could you check whether the patch now reintroduces the problem on ppc64el as well?
