I had to rebuild the image because I used the wrong partman-auto [1], but with 
that
images, the /boot/grub partition is indeed created as intended.

There is an empty question dialog that just needs to be answered with "No", but 
I think
that's a bug in partman-hfs I need to fix. Should be trivial.

I will commit the changes to partman-auto now and then have a look at 
grub-installer.
