The bug is unfortunately still present and the package still fails to build from source on Debian powerpc [1] and ppc64 [2]. I think this patch is trivial enough that it can be included without any further testing besides the testing on Debian powerpc and ppc64, where I have verified the patch to fix the problem. Could the patch be included with the next package revision?
