This is not clear to me, but my Mac Mini G4 does boot nicely from a properly prepared USB key: https://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2016/04/msg00081.html Pay attention that on your HFS USB key, the iso file extension should still be *.iso (pay attention to long filename). Some people have reported that some NewWorld PowerMac may not boot from USB (again I have no clue which version/system). HTH -M
