I had this problem a year ago on a powermac 7,3. I'm going to try it out 
and see if it's better. If I remember correctly, somebody put a new 
patch on the kernel in jessie that makes powermac_i2c compiled in 
instead of module, and then it was being loaded before something that it 
needed or some weird problem like that... so it wasn't getting any of 
the i2c busses.
