Heya guys, I also would like to thank Clemens Duerrschmidt again for his kind donation of his G5 PowerMac9,1 (single core G5, 1.8 GhZ, 600 MhZ fsb, AGP variant). :)
It's already well put to testing, the situation with the Nvidia FX 5200 AGP card is quite messy however, there are multiple bug reports going back many years but aside from basically giving up on any hardware accel features since KMS not much has come up it seems. While in general it might be able to work, workarounds for Nouveau on ppc and the FX 5200 AGP and similar nvidia cards are not too well documented it seems and ppl understandably moved on, also some later/ beefier G5 systems with pcie cards make it easier to switch to more easily maintainable GPU solutions (eg. AMD/ ATI) but of course that is not the goal here, I will look further into it but if you got any leads feel free to share, thx! best regards, grüße boris Konstantinos Margaritis <mar...@freevec.org> schrieb am Mo., 9. Once I receive the hardware, I'll attempt a ppc64 installation. Kind Regards
