Airport cannot be used, the relevant dmesg output is following: [ 8.093462] b43-phy0: Broadcom 4306 WLAN found (core revision 5) [ 8.189942] Registered led device: b43-phy0::tx [ 8.189990] Registered led device: b43-phy0::rx [ 8.190037] Registered led device: b43-phy0::radio [ 27.657785] b43 ssb0:0: firmware: agent loaded b43/ucode5.fw into memory [ 27.694619] b43 ssb0:0: firmware: agent loaded b43/pcm5.fw into memory [ 27.737501] b43 ssb0:0: firmware: agent loaded b43/b0g0initvals5.fw into memory [ 27.764976] b43 ssb0:0: firmware: agent loaded b43/b0g0bsinitvals5.fw into memory [ 27.876854] b43-phy0: Loading firmware version 666.2 (2011-02-23 01:15:07) [ 27.936931] b43-pci-bridge 0001:05:01.0: Warning: IOMMU window too big for device mask [ 27.937488] b43-pci-bridge 0001:05:01.0: mask: 0x3fffffff, table end: 0x80000000 [ 27.937995] b43-phy0 ERROR: The machine/kernel does not support the required 30-bit DMA mask [ 29.056940] b43-phy0 ERROR: Microcode not responding The key is the "required 30-bit DMA mask". Looks like this happens only with more than 1 GB on RAM (see BTS #742555). The machine is PowerMac7,3 (2x1.8 GHz) and the OS is up-to-date Wheezy (7.7).
