1) Boot into rescue mode.
2) edit /etc/yaboot.conf, remove device= and partition=, replace
boot=/dev/sda1
3) ybin
p.s. also installer works better if set to Power6 mode initially.

Hello,
I like to use Debian Linux on a IBM Power7 (8233-E8B)
we have VIOS Version: 2.2.0.12-FP24 SP-02.
I am using debian-6.0.2.1-powerpc-DVD-1.iso
install without LVM (Guided)
But the system do not boot after the Installation.
boot:
Please wait, loading kernel...
Can't open device </vdevice/v-scsi@30000123/@2:0>
/vdevice/v-scsi@30000123/@2:2,/boot/vmlinux: Unable to open file,
Invalid device
If i look in the SMS Menu of the LPAR i can see this:
/vdevice/v-scsi@30000123/disk@8200000000000000
Is there a chance to modify the yaboot at boot prombt like grub ?
Or boot in a rescue mode with the DVD an chroot to the hardisk ?
Thanks
