It could just be luck, the problem could return later. BTW, I think the error indicates the problem is in /usr/lib/libvpx.so.0, or maybe a static library linked into it (static libraries are usually built without -fPIC). Either way it should be a bug in the libvpx0 package. Might have been #583765, but I suspect more likely the fix for that is just hiding the problem for now.
