I *do* think that things matter, since the driver used then is one of the rt61pci or similars. > On Wed, Sep 17, 2008 at 02:05:56AM -0300, =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Rog=E9rio_Brito_ > wrote: > > * I think that communicating this to the kernel team would be a good > > thing. > > True, I guess ;-) > > > * The other thing that you can do is try to compile one of the > > release candidates of 2.6.27 (or 2.6.27 proper, if it has already been > > released). > Mmmm ... I've quit compiling my own kernels for PowerPC, since on my x86-64 things are *sooooo* much faster. > > > 00:0d.2 USB Controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. Could you test it again, please? I just discovered that I have one exact same card with the very same revision of yours and I used to have those disconnects problems that you mentioned. To be sure that we have the same hardware an "lspci -n | grep 0d.2" would be helpful. But running Ubuntu 8.04.x, I don't get them (I checked this a few minutes ago, since I left my mom watching a video that was stored on a SATA drive in an USB 2.0 enclosure).
