Indeed, that's because you mounted the partition. You should run macfdisk (or whatever it is called nowadays) on the whole device, like # macfdisk /dev/sdb And then press b, as Wolfgang told you. The partition map doesn't get installed under a partition (unless you have a very unusual setup). > Not entirely sure what to do here and I dont want to make a mistake.
