Hi all! [Running Debian/Lenny powerpc on an iBook.] After upgrading from postgresql-8.1 to pg_8.3 I lost the capacity to connect to my databases. Besides that I just found out that 'pidof' doen't seem to work for the ordinary user, as far as postgresql is concerned, whereas it works regularly for other processes:
user$ pidof /usr/sbin/apache 19095 19094 19093 19092 19091 19088 user$ pidof /usr/lib/postgresql/8.3/bin.postmaster [nihil] Root and postgres do work regularly: user$ su - postgres password: ------ postgres# pidof /usr/lib/postgresql/8.3/bin/postmaster 28957 28956 28955 28954 28952 I would like to ascertain whether this behaviour has anything to do with the malfunctioning of pg_8.3 I'm experiencing. Can any of you check it? Thanks for your attention. Regards, -- [Perche' usare Win$ozz (dico io) se ..."anche uno sciocco sa farlo. \\?// Fa' qualche cosa di cui non sei capace!"
