The option description seems misleading; even pbbuttonsd seems unable to change the backlight level on my PowerBook5,8 with it disabled, and I haven't found any other way to change it. It seems to be at 100% all the time, which is pretty bad in general, especially on battery. The fact that the line radeonfb: Backlight initialized (radeonbl0) is now missing from the kernel output probably confirms that this option is required for backlight control to work at all on PowerMacs. Whether CONFIG_PMAC_BACKLIGHT_LEGACY is still needed I'm not sure though. - -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (102, 'experimental') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.23-1-powerpc Locale: LANG=de_CH.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHYXJuWoGvjmrbsgARAqp4AJ97O0oTRYM5uZSkRAiYLLhYTFBFpgCggVTU 1640Cs3IpwzWtEkVE6bljzw= =nHyS -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
