Hi, To mark the fact that the Debian packages contain modifications which were not reviewed by the Mozilla foundation, the Firefox and Thunderbird were rebranded as Iceweasel and Icedove. If I understand correctly, the use of the Firefox and Thunderbird trademarks are only allowed for unmodified versions ; exceptions can be granted on a case-to-case basis. However, it does not fit well the work practices of Debian, in particular for security support, in which Debian puts emphasis on backporting changes to stable versions, whereas the Mozilla foundation favors the upgrade to the latest version.
