I am having trouble installing Ubuntu 6.10 on my G5 (specs below)
I am using the live CD that I used on my Pbook G4 and without any
problems. Just works and install swiftly..
On the other hand the G5 doesn´t even boot the live CD, therefore
impossible to install it.
Again, Pbook Ti G4 works fine, rock solid.
Tried to google it but not good results so far.
I've just recently been in Ubuntu-land -- I know people have been
installing 6.10 on G5 iMacs - Rev A, B and C. There are issues with
screen resolution and fan control, but AFAIK it installs OK -- unlike
the previous version. But check the Ubuntu forums, in particular the
Apple PPC Users one:
