Has anyone been able to enable the L2 and L3 caches in Sonnet Encore ZIF/G4 CPU Upgrade Card?
(The Sonnet part# EG4-1000-1M-U, although the EG4-500-1M should be the same. See http://www.sonnettech.com/product/encore.html) The card can be used but the L2 and L3 caches aren't enabled. According to an email from them:
There is one extension for OS 9 and a kernel extension for OS X that activates the L2 and L3 caches on the card. Obviously these won't work in Linux. Not sure if anyone has written any code to activate the caches in Linux but I suppose you can peruse the forums for your distro and see if anyone has come up with something.
