Sounds like good news .. :) Does this mean that there's a good chance the current xserver-xorg.* packages 7.0.18 might work even on the latest alubook 5,8, provided the xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.5.8.0-1 is also installed? Actually I was considering getting the latest xorg-ati drivers via cvs, compile them myself and then install/copy them over the Debian/unstable xorg 7.0 packages I can get with the usual aptitude update. But I'd be happily omitting the cvs part .. :) Currently I've installed some 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 xserver-xorg packages, because they can cope, as it seems, with the machine mentioned above ... But I'd be definitely glad to install the latest unstable xorg.* packages provided there's at least a *small* chance they will not break my current X ... :) Thanks in anticipation Best Regards Wolfgang -- Wolfgang Pfeiffer: /ICQ: 286585973/ + + + /AIM: crashinglinux/ http://profiles.yahoo.com/wolfgangpfeiffer Key ID: E3037113 http://keyserver.mine.nu/pks/lookup?search=0xE3037113&fingerprint=on -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
