Same behaviour with 2.6.14 :/
It's odd that this would be considered a fatal error. A Mac doesn't have an i8042 input controller. That is the old-fashioned PC style input (AT keyboard, etc.) and shouldn't even try to load on a Mac. At one point, just loading this driver would crash most Macs.
