try passing video=offb on the kernel command line - this will use the
openfirmware framebuffer which should work in any case.
This didn't work, unfortunately.

I may download kernel 2.6.15, since it seems to work.
I couldn't find the 15MB download... can somebody please tell me where it is?
(modem is NOT configured properly under Linux, sorry. I can only download from Mac OS)
