Hi, i played around with suspend-to-disk and suspend-to-ram. suspend-to-disk works very fine on my new ibook, but i have still problems with suspend-to-ram. i try it manually with
echo "mem" > /sys/power/state and with the hibernate package. I test nearly all settings in pbbuttonsd and also replaced it with pmud. pmud dont run, reporting: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# pmud -d -n pmud[12801]: pmud [treshold = 420, margin = 15] started pmud[12801]: opening /dev/adb pmud[12801]: opening /dev/pmu pmud[12801]: pmu_op(0xea, ..., version req) PMU version 12: iBook/G3 Pismo/G4 Titanium pmud[12801]: PMU version 12: iBook/G3 Pismo/G4 Titanium pmud[12801]: No sleep support on this hardware, exiting! pmud[12801]: daemon stopped (missing sleep support) when i set up hibernate.conf with UseSysfsPowerState mem and run hibernate (or manually with echo "mem") my computer seems to do everything what it should do before and afrer it "fell in sleep" instead of sleeping it self. from /var/log/debug: Oct 3 12:43:38 localhost kernel: [64725.545121] PM: suspend-to-disk mode set to 'shutdown' Oct 3 12:43:38 localhost kernel: [64725.545386] PM: Preparing system for mem sleep Oct 3 12:43:38 localhost kernel: [64725.620134] pmac_pm_prepare(3) Oct 3 12:43:38 localhost kernel: [64726.088479] radeonfb (0000:00:10.0): suspending to state: 3... Or is my laptop detected as a wrong model? Is there somebody with a _new_ ibook G4 from july2005 (or later) with working suspend-to-ram? Because i got some well-meant feedback from users with the ibook G3 or the older ibook G4 from 2004 i will emphasise that I have a newer modell, which is different (remember touchpad and sound problems, maybe pmu or similiar have also changed). If somebody has an working sleep on this model maybe i just have a non-working configuration or use the wrong tools. Else maybe this is a bug or missing feature, which should reported to somebody (unfortunately I am not a programmer to fix it). I am also interest in tips how to debug this issue better. the only thing i missing from the x86-world is ACPI, but maybe I am familiar with PMU soon. :-) Regards, Keywan P.S.: Maybe this additional information is helpful: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 cpu : 7447A, altivec supported clock : 666MHz revision : 0.5 (pvr 8003 0105) bogomips : 663.55 machine : PowerBook6,7 motherboard : PowerBook6,7 MacRISC3 Power Macintosh detected as : 287 (Unknown Intrepid-based) pmac flags : 00000008 L2 cache : 512K unified memory : 1024MB pmac-generation : NewWorld [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /sys/power/state standby mem disk [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /proc/pmu/info PMU driver version : 2 PMU firmware version : 0c AC Power : 1 Battery count : 1 -- Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni http://www.prometoys.net PGP Fingerprint: D5A1 A22E 3758 C9B4 57D2 3CAF EE52 1A78 C6A0 6934 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/# apt-get --purge remove dominion After unpacking world will be freed.
