However, your | boot partition looks a bit big. No larger than 4MB is what is normally | recommended. There have been problems reported with too large boot | partitions in the past, although I'm not sure if that will help in | your case. | | Other than that, your partition layout looks quite sane. | | Cheers, | | Leigh. |
Hello, thanks, that solved my biggest problem. Linux boots now - but I don't have normal access to the machine ( the keyboard isn't recognized, although it is the original keyboard ) nor have I access via serial console ( first time yaboot failed booting the kernel, now cannot even boot anything, OF crashes accessing to the disk, cdrom ...). But at least the system is booting. Assuming I didn't destroy the hardware yet, I'll give sarge a second try to find out whether it is possible to use the keyboard or serial console. Greetings Philipp P.S: I cannot install via serial console because yaboot isn't installed and I cannot change to a second terminal to do that per chroot /target; apt-get install ...;ybin. Is there a sarge-ppc image which installs yaboot automagically? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (FreeBSD) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFB2uMs9KYBCQQof6YRAsA8AJ93AeoB23UT6/5MWXoJo3aslgHY2QCgxM/u AOCzDVo4pyFWjrOlH3rblcs= =sbSE -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
