Hello,

My old iBook G3 800 12" has been replaced with G4 800 12" and as I tried to install Debian on it I have found some problems with it.

I used debian-installer RC2 and after I finally managed to install the system, but then problems started to arise: the computer often hangs when I try to install some software with apt-get. I was also trying to compile 2.6.9 kernel with latest Ben's patches, and I did once, but later I did not managed to achive it - it just stopped responding at some point.

I think it might be some cooling problem, but I am not sure how to check it. Now I am in MAC OS X and downloading all upgrades from Apple. Computer is up some 4 hours and nothing happens. I put some stress tests to see if the computer will hang up on MAC OS X, but I achieved nothing. I suppose then it might be some problem with Linux?
