patch later tonight... i see it's for 2.6.7, i'll try to adapt it to
2.6.9 (if needed).

hm. i see you guys are very fond of 'unofficial' patches: how do you
manage them? i guess there're debian tools for that, right? is there
some sort of 'patch archive' other than the mailing list archives? or
a debian package perhaps?
