Don't know what is the method you have used to build, but I tried to build eclipse from sources... > install: > > BUILD FAILED > /usr/local/src/eclipse-sourceBuild-srcFetch-3.0RC3/buildScripts/build.xml:63: > taskdef class org.eclipse.pde,internal.build.tasks.IdReplaceTask cannot be > found Yep, I had a lot of these errors. I went to the relevant build.xml file, commented the code and do what the task should do (if I recall it was because of a chmod or something) > Total time: 14 minutes 24 seconds After a lot of tries, Eclipse did build... but without javadoc which seems badly broken on ibm's jdk. > I have installed a number of GTK libraries hoping that would help > matters, but so far no success. I noticed that only the swt bindings are natives (and the launcher), so I did try to build the bindings (it's explain in the faq[1]). The launcher could be skipped by a normal java launching line[2]... I can run Eclipse, but can't do a lot more[3]... > Thanks in advance.
