hi there,

well, besides the lack of an Xserver yet, i am setting up my system according
to:
  http://seb.france.free.fr/linux/ibookG4/iBookG4-howto.html
  http://www.twolife.org/debian/ibook.php
but i am getting nowhere fast.

i have installed the latest kernel image from here
  http://twolife.free.fr/vrac/ibook/kernel-image-2.6.7_1_powerpc.deb
and also tried everything using debian's 2.6.6-powerpc kernel.

1 - powernowd does not work! with cpu frequency stuff all built
into the 2.6.7 kernel, the modules loaded for 2.6.6 and
     sysfs mounted correctly... the folder
       /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0
is completely empty! no sub folders... nothing!

2 - pbbuttonsd fails with the following:
     Setting up pbbuttonsd (0.5.9-1) ...
Starting pbbuttonsd: invoke-rc.d: initscript pbbuttonsd, action "start"
failed.
     dpkg: error processing pbbuttonsd (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 12
     Errors were encountered while processing:
      pbbuttonsd

3 - british keymaps are wrong. but i'll get this sorted out soon.

4 - i still can't get X started! and worse yet, it takes my system
with it when it fails, so i have to force a reset.

is anybody else having any joy with installing on a recent iBook? is my system
just totally shafted? help!
