If it's related to the same files every time it's very likely to be
a harddisc/filesystem issue rather than kernel or anything else.

Looks like bad sectors to me. Which would mean that there are (small)
areas on the disk that can't store data reliable anymore, this is
neither nice but nor is it uncommon for IDE-discs from what I've
experienced. Go into single-user mode and let fsck run a check for
bad blocks (be sure to read the manpage in order to avoid unnecessary
data loss). Fsck should mark the bad sectors and the filesystem will
then avoid this areas. If you're lucky that's it - if you're not you
might get more and more bad sectors and have to replace the harddisk.
You do make backups of your important data on a regular basis,
don't you?
