Hello everyone. I am having a frustrating time of installing Debian on my Powerbook G3 (1999) Lombard bronze keyboard laptop. I ordered the Woody 3.0r2 six CD set from a vendor listed on the Debian web site. My install attempt is for a Debian only OS on my laptop. Everything works fine until I get to the installation of the packages. I choose the tasksel option for the package installation figuring it would be the easiest for a newbie like me. The system starts to install the packages, but freezes and stops at this display message:
/instmnt/pool/main/6/base-config/base-config-1.33.18_all.deb Previous install attempts actually shut down the laptop when it got to the package installation stage. I am at a real loss here. Please help guide me to a successful installation of Debian. Bill
