Hi, I am a switcher to Mac world and running iBook G4 800Mhz with Debian kernel 2.4.24 and Panther.
I encountered an error during compiling the lastest benh's source tree I got today: -------- (make O=../build > ../compileLog 2>&1) (tail ../compileLog) COFF arch/ppc/boot/openfirmware/coffboot ld: cannot open linker script file arch/ppc/boot/ld.script: No such file or directory COFF arch/ppc/boot/image/vmlinux.coff objcopy: arch/ppc/boot/openfirmware/coffboot: No such file or directory make[3]: *** [arch/ppc/boot/images/vmlinux.coff] Error 1 make[2]: *** [openfirmware] Error 2 make[1]: *** [zImage] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2 -------- I made sure there is ld.script file under arch/ppc/boot with the permission of 222. Could you tell me what went wrong? and/or some spells to solve? However, actually, there was not coffboot file under arch/ppc/boot/openfirmware directory. Some google search said someone had same kind of error, and the unconvincing answer was just 'touch coffboot'. I cannot test anything with this one before the ld.script problem is solved, can I? Or you can tell me some other way to cope it. Thanks. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance: Get your refund fast by filing online. http://taxes.yahoo.com/filing.html
