HI there, There was a follow up by another thread 'problem installing linux on an IBM RS6000 44P-170 machine' but I guess more people would be interested in this test.
As Jens suggested, I downloaded the vmlinuz-chrp.initrd from http://people.debian.org/~luther/d-i/images/daily/power3/netboot/ . I used to 0>boot net to boot the IBM RS6000 44P-170 machine. It found the image and downloaded it. While it was downloading, I issued several #arp -s <ip> <mac> command on the tftpserver to make the client download the whole image which is larger than 2M. Here is what I saw on the RS6k machine console. 0> boot net LOAD: Waiting 60 seconds for Spanning Tree BOOTP R=1 BOOTP S=1 FILE: tftpboot.img Load Addr=0x4000 Max Size=0xbfc000 FINAL Packet Count=10892 Final File Size =5576584 CLAIM failed ok 0> Could anyone tell what the problem is? Thank you very much. Shi Jin __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Take Yahoo! Mail with you! Get it on your mobile phone. http://mobile.yahoo.com/maildemo
