Dear all,
I have just, for the first time, booted into my brand-new 64-bit kernel
on my G5.
The kernel source was apt-got - kernel-source-2.6.8-powerpc.
The steps to install the toolchain are pointed out on
www.linuxppc64.org (just follow toolchain).
The kernel config file was found lists.debian.org (searching for ppc64
kernel package).
Everything went like a dream. Booted perfectly first time - X started
first time - happy camper!
Can someone please point me to where I can find out which ppc features
work (or don't work) in ppc64?
I have read somewhere that thermal does not work in 64-bit - hence my
fans going at full blast.
My next mini-project is to get my BenQ AWL400 wireless USB working. If
anyone has any hints about this I would be grateful.
Paddy.
