I am having some trouble with the radeon framebuffer driver in recent kernels (Herbert's 2.4.22 with kernel-patch-benh, 2.4.23-pre5-ben0, and 2.4.21-ben2). When I boot I get the following messages from the kernel:
PCI: Enabling device 00:10.0 (0086 -> 0087) radeonfb: ref_clk=2700, ref_div=12, xclk=36000 from OF radeonfb: Failed to detect DFP panel size Using unsupported 1024x768 ATY,Bee_A at 9c008000, depth=8, pitch=1024 Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 128x48 fb0: Open Firmware frame buffer device on /[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,Bee_A Using unsupported 640x480 ATY,Bee_B at 99008000, depth=8, pitch=768 fb1: Open Firmware frame buffer device on /[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,Bee_B However, this does not happen all the time. It has been consistent for the past few days, but before that the driver was able to detect the panel size correctly: radeonfb: ref_clk=2700, ref_div=12, xclk=36000 from OF radeonfb: detected DFP panel size from EDID: 1024x768 Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 128x48 Registered "ati" backlight controller, level: 15/15 radeonfb: ATI Radeon M7 LW DDR SGRAM 32 MB radeonfb: DVI port LCD monitor connected radeonfb: CRT port no monitor connected radeonfb: Power Management enabled for Mobility chipsets If I try to force the panel size using `video=radeon:panel_yres:768', only one line of the display is visible. Trying `video=radeon:1024x768' results in the OF framebuffer being used. Does anybody have any idea what is going on? -- gram
