The original tree is at bk://ppc.bkbits.net/linuxppc-2.5-benh. And there are rsync mirrors at source.mvista.com::linuxppc-2.5-benh and rsync.theorie.physik.uni-muenchen.de::linuxppc-2.5-benh. Jens thank you for your help on that link.. i have been able to rsync.
Now with 2.6.0-test7 as long as test8 I have not been able to get my text console except with video=ofonly but then from the very first time using that with my orig. 22" flat panel, X does not work. Here are all the options I used:
append="video=aty128fb:[EMAIL PROTECTED]" no
append="video=aty128fb:vmode:20-24" no
append="video=ofonly" only text ttys work
append="video=r128" no
append="video=aty128fb" no
append="video=aty128" no
append="video=aty128fb:vmode:22" just one xsession but no other tty text or x sessions can be used
even blank.. no appending video
The only thing which i have been able to do is run one X session with append="video=aty128fb:vmode:22" on my flat panel. I have gdm set up to run 2 xsessions and only the first xsession works. The second one the power light just flashes amber along with the other ttys and is a blank screen. I can figure that yes.. it is a frame buffer issue but I am at a loss esp since I am not a programmer but have been using and compiling kernels for over 4.5 years now and I am stumped.
I am looking so forward to be using some of the new features in 2.6 but have been blocked by this hurtle.
