I am having pretty much the exact same problem as Tugrul
(http://lists.debian.org/debian-powerpc/2003/debian-powerpc-200308/
msg00398.html ): Works fine under OSX, but under GNU/Linux has
problems. I have a PowerBook G4-800 with a Radeon 7500 M7 LW.
I was previously running xserver-xfree86 4.2.1-12.1 from unstable which
worked but had issues that I fixed by changing the Mode line. But I
still have the 'blooming' problem if I quit X. So I tried
xserver-xfree86 4.3.0-0pre1v3, when it started the screen just went
blank. I fixed that by adding:
Option "MonitorLayout" "LVDS"
But the radeon frame buffer doesn't seem to work, that's where my
problem is the same as Tugrul's:
radeonfb: ref_clk=2700, ref_div=12, xclk=36675 from OF
radeonfb: Failed to detect DFP panel size
Using unsupported 1280x854 ATY,Crown_A at bc008000, depth=8, pitch=1280
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 160x53
fb0: Open Firmware frame buffer device on
/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,Crown_A
Using unsupported 640x480 ATY,Crown_B at b9008000, depth=8, pitch=768
fb1: Open Firmware frame buffer device on
/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ATY,Crown_B
and /proc/fb shows OFfb on both devices (I am in MacOS X now, I forgot
to make a file of that).
Ran this under MacOS X:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:src > ioreg -l | grep EDID
| | | "EDIDerr" = <f615>
| | | "EDIDerr" = <f615>
Here is a collection of relevant files:

I would really like to get rid of this blooming problem, anyone have
any suggestions, ideas?
