Well simple recording *does* work on this PB G3 Lombard, using
"brec" from the bplay package.
Well, sort of. I now remember why I haven't used brec much: every few
seconds, there is a sharp, short (about 0.1 seconds or something)
loud noise (like uninitialized buffer or something) in the recorded
sound. I thought it was brec's fault, but maybe it's a dmasound
problem?
So I'll have to find out whether ALSA works on this machine? I've
seen a bug report on a ppc freezing upon loading snd-powermac from
half a year ago.
