If I'm understanding the alpha channel utility (32 bpp colors), it's that it means the opacity of an image so it lets you handle true transparency, isn't it? I mean true transparency directly with xserver-xfree86 drivers instead of hacks or emulations that takes a root shot to emulate the transparency effect.
