Well, I've already installed debian on a powerbook G4 17" with most of
the hardware (the one I need most :) working including the complete
system, X at 1440x900 16bits, USB, network (cable, no airport) and
sound.

I've made this iso image with a 2.4.20-benh kernel:

http://people.gnulinux.org.mx/drs/powerbook/powerbook17.iso

that can make a debian netinstall; but the cd cannot boot using the
'c' key at the chime sound, you need to enter openfirmware (pressing
when the chime sounds, at the same time [apple] + [alt] + [o] + [f])
and boot it using:

boot cd:,\yaboot

Once the system is installed, you can get the .deb of the kernel I'm
running from here:

http://people.gnulinux.org.mx/drs/powerbook/kernel-image-2.4.21-ben1_drs.2.4_powerpc.deb

Here is my X config file (WARNING: I use dvorak):

http://people.gnulinux.org.mx/drs/powerbook/XF86Config-4

And you can also find here my /etc/modules.conf and /etc/modules:

http://people.gnulinux.org.mx/drs/powerbook/modules
http://people.gnulinux.org.mx/drs/powerbook/modules.conf

I hope this files help someone install debian successfully ! :)
