Hmmm, I tried the rescue floppy with no success. I will try again with a diffrent floppy and report (perhaps I suffered from media error). Thanks for the reply. As an interesing aside, I can boot hfs floppy in the left media bay. (MacOS will not boot from a left media bay floppy on this machine.) It is unusable for installation, though, because the floppy fails to eject when the kernel is ready for the root floppy. This suggest to me that a properly configured boot floppy could load the root filesystem from a CD in the right media bay for a one-floppy-only installer. - -- Henry House The unintelligible text that may follow is a digital signature.
