Hmmm... ATZ is a modem reset. Perhaps the following two commands (ATM0L0) are not taken into account? Try and put those on a separate line in your chat script, i.e. duplicate the ATZ line plus the following line, and replace the second ATZ with ATM0L0. Hope this helps...
