That's definitely not true. I have a Power Macintosh 7500, and it has a MacOS 8.6 install that is on a straight HFS partition. It boots just fine. (I put it there so I could use BootX until I got Quik squared away. I keep it only for emergencies now.) -- Derrik Pates
