I would wager that it is certainly possible - I've been using a 2940U2W since 2.2.12 (I believe) - granted, this is in an x86 machine. You'll want the aic7xxx driver - CONFIG_SCSI_AIC7XXX. Here's a snip from my dmesg output: SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00 scsi0 : Adaptec AIC7XXX EISA/VLB/PCI SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 6.2.8 <Adaptec 2940 Ultra2 SCSI adapter> aic7890/91: Ultra2 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 32/253 SCBs scsi1 : Adaptec AIC7XXX EISA/VLB/PCI SCSI HBA DRIVER, Rev 6.2.8 <Adaptec 2930CU SCSI adapter> aic7860: Ultra Single Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 3/253 SCBs Vendor: WDIGTL Model: WD91 ULTRA2 Rev: 1.00 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-ROM PX-40TW Rev: 1.00 Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Vendor: YAMAHA Model: CRW4416S Rev: 1.0h Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02 scsi0:A:0:0: Tagged Queuing enabled.
