Hello folks, As many other iBook2 combo drive users I burn CD/RW discs with my favourite notebook, cdrecord and Debian GNU/Linux. I can succesfully write data on 650 and 700 size MB CDs but actually I have no success with overburning this type CDs.
I have the SONY CD-RW CRX800E combo drive on my iBook, IDE-SCSI emulation on latest benh kernels allows me to use this ATAPI writer as a SCSI device with cdrecord. I have successfully backported the latest cdrutils package and the xcdroast package from Debian unstable to stable, this software tools support the overburn option. But as far as not every CD/RW supports overburnig I would like to ask if someone has any experience with the SONY CD-RW CRX800E writer and overburning CDs? I would just like to know if this kind of hardware supports overburning or not. Thanks for pointers and feedback, have a nice evening, I. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ivo Marino [EMAIL PROTECTED] UN*X Developer, running Debian GNU/Linux irc.FreeNode.net #debian http://eimbox.org/~eim http://eimbox.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
