I have the Fujitsu MHR2040AT (installed myself in my TiBook). It is relatively silent (no high frequency noise...), but it made lour clocking noises all the time. An email to support showed that this is the head going into offload parking position; which should not happen that often. A firmware upgrade greatly reduced the number of times it makes that noise. If anyone wants that firmware (30BA), let me know. You need a DOS machine however...
