I just did one of these last night using X from unstable and benh kernel obtained (yesterday) with rsync as described at http://penguinppc.org/~benh/ It was unusable with radeonfb (had to use video=ofonly for legible text console, but no X this way) until I did rsync update for benh kernel; 2.4.20-ben1 worked, 2.4.20-rc4-ben0 did not. X works mostly now, but this was not so until I updated the kernel module radeon.o, obtainable by adding deb http://people.debian.org/~daenzer/dri-trunk/ ./ to sources.list and apt-getting drm-trunk-module-src (use to rebuild radeon.o). I guess sleeping is still an issue for Radeon M7 units? I tried snoozing mine (by shutting the lid); it froze. This works fine in a Radeon M6 unit.
