Which one is that? I have eight currently installed kernels. I could boot any one of them at any time. $ ls /boot/vm* /boot/vmlinux-2.2.19-pmac /boot/vmlinux-2.4.19-linuxppc /boot/vmlinux-2.4.16 /boot/vmlinux-2.4.20-pre2 /boot/vmlinux-2.4.17-rc1-ben0 /boot/vmlinux-2.4.20-pre2-linuxppc-devel /boot/vmlinux-2.4.19-ben0 /boot/vmlinux-2.4.20-rc1-ben0 One could argue for: a. the kernel running right now b. the kernel that would boot by default c. the kernel I plan to choose when I reboot It's better to choose "none of the above", so you're always clear what is getting used.
