hello, > Delete > > Is there a way to enable the Delete key to actually act like the > Delete key as far as deleting mail in Mozilla Mail is concerned? Or > is there another key that will do this? yes, for X, edit the file ~/.xmodmap, there I have an entry keycode 22 = Backspace Delete Delete keycode 31 = i I Insert keycode 115 = Mode_switch clear mod1 clear mod3 add mod1 = Alt_L add mod3 = Mode_switch
in that way, the "apple" key has the same function than the "AltGr" key. So, alt+Backspace or apple+Backspace is like delete. But if you use an us keyboard, you probably won't need the "AltGr" key, so I think the first line would be enough. To start xmodmap, type xmodmap ~/.xmodmap once X is started. If you want to see the keycodes of your keyboard, lauch xev under X. > > > OpenOffice > > I assume that if I want to install openoffice I should use the MAC > version.
