Same problem here, although my ibook even goes down at 80% without any warning. When I reboot and recharge it starts with 0%, goes up to 20% and suddenly jumps up to 100% again. I am not sure if this a kernel/driver issue, but it happened from one day to another and I did update my kernel quite often. I also tried a PMU reset (Ctrl-Alt-Shift-Power), but to no avail.
