Which it currently doesn't." So maybe I'm out of luck in all cases. But hopefully, either Reiser or XFS will not have the persistent spinup problem I have with ext3. (...or will they?) Also (this is not directed at you in particular), I read the 404 pages when I sent my original query, and I saw that penguinppc.org was running off of a backup server.
