I seem to be having trouble connecting to my airport v2 base station from an ibook2 equipped with an airport card.
I wish to connect to a base station with a name a password (all the users use the same name - say "mozambique" - and password - say "current"). My configuration script is: auto eth1 iface eth1 inet static address 192.168.181.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.181.254 up iwconfig eth1 essid benguela up iwconfig eth1 enc s:current up iwconfig eth1 nick rozair iwconfig gives me: roz:/home/rory# iwconfig eth1 IEEE 802.11-DS ESSID:"mozambique" Nickname:"rozair" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412GHz Access Point: 00:30:65:15:F3:56 Bit Rate:2Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm Sensitivity:1/3 Retry limit:4 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:6375-7272-656E-7400-0000-0000-00 Power Management:off Link Quality:46/92 Signal level:-51 dBm Noise level:-97 dBm Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:295 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 tail -f /proc/net/wireless gives me: roz:/home/rory# tail -f /proc/net/wireless Inter-| sta-| Quality | Discarded packets | Missed face | tus | link level noise | nwid crypt frag retry misc | beacon eth1: 0000 46. 205. 159. 0 425 0 0 0 0 Are my encryption settings wrong?
