There are 2 versions of the iBook2 500 MHz - one with a 66 MHz bus and one with a 100 MHz bus. The one with the 66 MHz bus has a "real" modem while the 100 MHz bus version of the iBook2 (and machines after that) have the conexant "soft" modems ... cheers vinai
