i'm using (i.e. trying to use <s>) linux [1] since about three years
on my 7500/g3/400 which might be called 'ancient', but ;-)) it's the
only powermac i own.
may be some probs [2] can be related to using BootX, but - for my
eyes - it seems to be a stable combination: i haven't got any serious
crash till now, only few freezes in MacOS/Mol (9.0.4).
[1] short periods with Linux_PPC 2k & SuSE 6.4, debian/woody since June '01.
[2] never got a kernel > 2.4.8 running ...
